Dr Andrew Dunbar, who serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Office of the South Australian Chief Entrepreneur joined the South Australian Space Industry Team as Director in 2017.
In this role, he is responsible for supporting the Chief Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurship Advisory Board and delivering on the Government’s commitment to growing entrepreneurship and supporting start-up and scale up business in South Australia, across a range of industries including space. He is also responsible for delivering the Startup hub at Lot Fourteen.
Andrew has more than 17 years’ experience working in the life sciences industry in Australia and Europe. He has a PhD in molecular biology/biochemistry from Flinders University, and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Previous roles have included Director, Office of Science, Technology and Research at the Department for Industry and Skills, Director Business and Corporate Development at Mayne Pharma Group and Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development and Acquisitions at Novozymes A/S, based in Denmark.
He currently sits on a number of boards and committees, including South Australian Venture Capital Fund Management Committee, SABRENet Board, Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing Advisory Board, Smart Cities Consortium, Innovation and Collaboration Centre Advisory Board and GigCity Adelaide Steering Committee.
