The 4th South Australia Space Forum, held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Wednesday 22 November 2017, attracted over 230 local and international guests, making it one of the largest Australian space events in the country.

22 November, 2017-23 November, 2017

The forum was a ideal opportunity to promote South Australia’s growing space economy and enable local stakeholders to collaborate with interstate and international counterparts. As a result of the forum:

  • South Korean company APSI visited a number of South Australian companies involved in the Internet of Things (Myriota, Nova Group, Fleet and UniSA) generating potential future collaboration;
  • Italian Company SITAEL worked with local company Inovor, to discuss the establishment of a new South Australian company capable of designing and manufacturing small satellites (from 1kg to 300 kg) and ground stations;
  • The UAE Space Agency has shown a strong interest in the space laboratory at the Hamilton Secondary College. Discussions have begun between SASIC and the UAE Space Agency regarding a potential letter of intent signing in February;
  • US-based satellite company Planet, expressed interest in playing an active role in the South Australian space ecosystem including involvement in specific local projects and mentorship activity with local startups.
